Applying Metadata to Data

After uploading data, contributors can find those files on our Data Curator App, which is used to help annotate the data. Select Gray Foundation, your project name, and the folder of files you want to annotate. Then select a metadata template. Click download template and go through the steps of populating the template. Export the template as a .csv and reupload it to the data curator app and validate. After it passes validation, you may submit it and your annotations will now appear on Synapse with your data.

🛠️ Troubleshooting​

I cannot see my project or folder

This is usually a permissions issue. Please contact us to get your account added.

I do not see a template that is a good fit for my data

Usually the right template should already exist. Contact us and we'll add the right template.

The app hangs or crashes

Contact the DCC and we'll contact the tooling team for troubleshooting.

I have a validation issue

Check the validation error messages, and if it is confusing or you disagree, please contact the DCC.
